PAF s’ News Section paffalcons.com In ongoing operation Rah-e-Nijat, 19 more terrorists have been killed during security forces operation in South Waziristan Agency whereas six soldiers embraced shahadat and 20 were injured. On JandolaSararogha Axis, forces moved forward of Kotkai and secured important Road Y junction at Kazhakas the roads leading to Inzar Kalle and Sararogha. The dominating ridges East and West of this Road Y junction have been secured. According to ISPR, security forces also secured Gharlai village on main Kotkai-Sararogha road and the adjoining ridges. During engagement, 10 terrorists were killed while 6 soldiers embraced shahadat and 14 were injured. On Shakai-Kaniguram after securing of Chalwastai the village has been completely cleared and forces moved forward. Forces have surrounded village Sarwek 1 km North of Chalwastai and taken control of surrounding ridges. The complete area has been cleared of terrorists and clearance operation to remove mines, IEDs and booby traps is under way. During engagements, North of Sarwek village 7 terrorists have been killed while 5 soldiers got injured. In Razmak, security forces secured Shaga feature and Sharakai Sar in Nawazkot area. These heights dominate Road Nawazkot- Makeen and area all around. 2 terrorists have been killed while 1 soldier got injured due to sniper fire at Sharakai Sar. 15 terrorists were killed by security forces in Hangu. This will kick start a new era in Pak-China relationship, and aviation industry. Both China and PAF attach a lot of importance to this project, which is materializing after hectic and laborious efforts spread over almost a decade, sources said. The PAC has generated all the capability to produce the aircraft locally for its onward delivery to PAF besides materializing purchase orders from abroad. The JF-17 Thunder a new generation, light-weight, all weather, day/night multi-role fighter aircraft with glass cockpit, hands-on-throttle-and-stick (HOTAS) controls and efficient man-machine interface will ensure a minimal pilot workload. The maximum speed of Mach 1.6 and a high thrust-to-weight ratio will enable it to perform well in an air defence role. An ability to carry short- as well as long-range air-to-air missiles lends the aircraft a first shot capability. In the surface attack role, a variety of weapons - conventional as well as precision-guided, a sophisticated avionics suite along with accurate weapon delivery system, ensure higher mission success rate. An effective ECM suite will greatly enhance survivability of the platform. PAF s’ News Section paffalcons.com Largest ever War Games of Pakistan Armed Forces Azm-e-Nau-3 get started at Choalistan sector of Southern Punjab. More than twenty thousand troops, officers and jawans, from almost all departments of Pakistan Army are taking part in the exercises. Pakistan Air Force would also join Pakistan Army during the exercises. The aim of the exercises is to practise the preparedness of the forces for any conventional war threat, to work out the contemporary military planning, modern war techniques and the use of latest weapon system. It is worth mentioning here that Army Chief, General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani has declared the year 2010 as The Year of Training. Today at the initial stage of the exercise, various departments of Pakistan Army like Tanks, Artillery, Anti Aircraft, Engineers, Infantry, Signals and supporting units participated in the manoeuvres. A heavy Anti Tank Battalion successfully demonstrated the dispersal manoeuvres, in which the Armed Personnel Carriers (APCs) also took part. Troops are valiantly exercising their professional skills and techniques. Azm-e-Nau III is the culmination of typical broad-based and long-term process of War Games and conceptualization of conventional war. The Exercises would continue up till 13th of May, in diverse areas of Sindh and Southern Punjab. The exercises are the true depiction of excellent professional training system in Armed Forces of Pakistan.
