Not too long ago, we were worried that Lindsay Lohan was becoming a has-been, due to her poor reputation and bad box office sales. But, to the contrary, it seems that she’s a hot item once again.

Reportedly, MTV Australia is locked in a fierce bidding war with MTV Russia over getting LiLo to appear at their respective versions of the Video Music Awards. According to an Aussie MTV spokesperson, “We’re in negotiations with Lindsay’s people but it’s a money battle at the moment with MTV Russia.”

Why can’t she just do both? Apparently the Aussie awards are April 27th, and the Russian gig is within a week. But with Australia’s penchant for party girls (remember Tara Reid’s recent trip?) we’d be surprised if the Mean Girl ended up in Russia.

With this Friday’s release of “Fool’s Gold” stars Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson are furiously charging down the promotional trail.

Starting off her day in NYC, Kate was spotted outside her Manhattan residence sporting a big wool coat with a furry collar and cuffs. Later on, she joined her “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” co-star Matthew at the MTV Studios on Broadway in Midtown.

These two proved, once again, why they’re such a bankable commodity as they fell into their familiar chemistry during the taping of TRL.

And their mutual admiration goes beyond the movie set. In a recent interview, Hudson gave her endorsement to Matthew’s upcoming venture into fatherhood.

“I think he will be an incredible dad. Matthew just happens to be one of the most loving and loyal people I know. And his family is important to him. And I think it’s one thing that we connect on. He’s great with kids and I think he’ll be a very responsible and absolutely blast of a dad.”

It was a busy day in the Big Apple for Fergie on Tuesday, as the Black Eyed Pea frontwoman ventured from being a fashion spectator to a promoter throughout the afternoon.

First on the agenda, the future Mrs. Josh Duhamel stopped by the Marc Jacobs Fall 2008 fashion show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. From there, the Big Girls Don’t Cry singer headed over for a spot on MTV’s popular show Total Request Live.

Meanwhile, in other news on Fergie, she was just recently named the new face of MAC’s Viva Glam cosmetics - a line benefiting the cosmetic giants AIDS fund.

Of her new assignment, Fergie told press: “I have been a fan of Viva Glam for a long time — I have been following the campaign for years and I think it’s a great outreach, MAC picks people like RuPaul, Mary J. Blige — people that are a little controversial and aren’t afraid to speak their minds. I’m very proud to be a part of it.”

While she’s been an admirer of the various Mercedes Benz Fashion Week shows over the past few days, on Tuesday, Rihanna changed gears to take care of some promotional duties.

In a move that marketers just couldn’t avoid, the Umbrella singer found herself doing press for her new umbrella line from Totes at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City. Wearing a sexy black outfit along with a matching scarf and a pair of orange heels, the Barbados native posed for pictures and signed autographs for fans lucky enough to sneak their way up front.

From here, Rihanna is scheduled to perform at a pre-Grammy fashion show on Thursday, followed up by her much-anticipated appearance at the 2008 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10).

We all know how people like to talk… and the latest rumor going around about Kylie Minogue is that she’s rekindled her romance with ex-boyfriend Olivier Martinez.

But the “Locomotion” singer says there’s no truth to the notion that they’ve gotten back together, despite the fact that they were spotted together in Paris in Paris last week. She told press, “I had dinner with my ex-boyfriend and next thing I know there’s a debate about whether we’re having a family. We didn’t even talk about that. As I’ve maintained, we’re friends.”

Nonetheless, Minogue was seen arriving at Martinez’s Paris apartment last Sunday. Later that day, they were spotted taking a walk back to her hotel on the Left Bank. The next day, the ex-couple was observed walking Olivier’s dog.

Looking her usual sexy self, Helena Christensen took the the Mercedes Benz fashion week nightlife happening in New York City on Monday night.

The Danish supermodel was spotted taking a break from her motherly duties, attending the Halston Fall 2008 fashion show after party. Meanwhile, Christensen - who “was linked to Heath Ledger following his split from Michelle Williams, but always insisted they were just friends” - recently told People that “she’s coping – thanks, in part, to her 8-year-old son, Mingus.”

“Time passes. It’s doesn’t make it easier, but you try to do the best you can. When you have a child, they kind of bring you back to the moment in a really comforting way,” Helena tells.

The 39-year-old adds: “I have only good memories of him,” she added. “Losing any friend is horrific, but he just has this thing about him – this special, enigmatic thing that I have never met in anyone before. That’s what all of his friends are saying. They are totally devastated by losing someone who gave them so much. He gave everyone so much.”

Coleen McLoughlin is currently enjoying a girls-only getaway with her two closest friends on Sandy Lane beach in Barbados.

Spotted out spending most of the day swimming and soaking up the sun on a pontoon, the soon to be Mrs Rooney flew into the island a few days ago on British Airways. According to press reports, “This is the first time Coleen has visited Barbados without her fiance Wayne Rooney, who vacationed with her here in the summers of 2004 and 2005.”

Of the trip, Coleen told Closer magazine: “Wayne’s busy playing for England, so I thought I’d get away while I’ve got some free time.”

And of slipping back into her two-piece bikini, McLoughlin said: “I’ve been quite good with my diet and exercise recently, and anyway, I want to enjoy my holiday rather than worry about how I look.”

While most of the fashion world is busily bustling in New York City for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Petra Nemcova has found her own little fashionable nook, back in her hometown.

The beautiful supermodel was in Prague, Czech Republic yesterday at the ALO Diamonds photocall at the swanky Hotel Savoy. Petra looked playful as she hammed it up for the cameras while wearing various luxurious diamond-encrusted accessories, including a princess tiara.

One day earlier, Nemcova assumed the judging duties at the Miss Czech Pageant. After the gig, she was spotted shaking her booty at an after party. What a life!

Promoting a big budget movie is tough work. Just ask Kate Hudson, who has been all over New York City to help boost the box office return of her new film, Fool’s Gold.

To start things off, Hudson did the morning show routine - paying visits to both the Today Show and Live with Regis & Kelly. And while work’s important, it’s always nice to see big name stars fitting their children into the hectic schedule that comes along with being a celebrity.

Kate did just that, taking son Ryder out for a walk in the West Village on what turned into a dreary, rainy day. While they were walking, Kate keenly pointed out a puddle to her little man - with Ryder taking notice and stepping over it. Too cute!

Continuing on with her girls-only getaway, a toned and tanned Coleen McLoughlin spent another day frolicking along the beach in Barbados on Wednesday (February 6).

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Coleen is enjoying the tropical vacation while her soon-to-be husband Wayne Rooney is keeping busy with his professional soccer schedule. As for her professional life, McLoughlin is currently starring in her own reality series called Real Women, which has the 21-year-old selecting women from across the UK to compete against real models for jobs.

Of the show’s premise, Coleen told press: “There are things I dislike about my body but there is no reason why other women can’t have the opportunities that I’ve had. If I can get one of these companies to use a girl that isn’t a typical model then I’ve achieved what I’ve set out to do. You don’t have to be the typical supermodel type. I think as long as your happy you’re healthy. I couldn’t care less whether you are a size zero or size 18.”
