Designer: Goodmorning Technology

There is nothing futuristic about the Goodmorning Technology’s phone concepts for Topcom, but these phones do ask for attention with their simplicity, both in appearance and use. The two concepts are the Butler 500 cordless DECT phone and the Butler 920 Skype phone. The cordless DECT phone with touch-sensitive keys can be placed vertically or horizontally into the charger. The phone is able to withstand one meter of water depth for 30 minutes. Its 1180 mAh battery accounts for 5.5 hours of talk time and more than 9 days of standby time. Without a doubt, this kind of a phone is intended for use on places like construction sites by rugged individuals.

While Nokia is thinking of launching gesture-controlled phones in the near future, Samsung seems to be banking on flexible OLEDs, at least for now. Their new concept phone, showcased at the FPD International show in Yokohama, opens to reveal a large, bright flexible OLED display. The phone looks like a normal clamshell phone on the outside, but the inclusion of the folding OLED full-screen display inside does deserve attention. We have no idea when we are going to see this folding OLED phone from Samsung in stores near us, but it’s good to see that industry giants are busy thinking of new ideas every other day.
